A 21-year-old housewife named Maimuna Suleiman has been arrested in Bauchi State, Nigeria, for allegedly stabbing her husband, Aliyu Mohammed, to death. The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident and took the suspect into custody. According to the Command's Public Relations Officer, ASP Aminu Gimba Ahmed, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital due to a chest wound.

The police received information about the incident on July 5, 2023, and immediately dispatched detectives from the Township Divisional Police headquarters to the crime scene in Kofar Dumi area, Bauchi. Both the victim and the suspect were taken to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) for medical attention. Medical reports confirmed the victim's cause of death as the injury sustained to his chest, while the suspect had minor bruises on her stomach.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, Maimuna Suleiman, stabbed her husband, Aliyu Mohammed, following an altercation that occurred in their matrimonial home on July 5, 2023, at approximately 6:00 PM. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to committing the crime.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammad, ordered the case to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the victim's death. The investigation is ongoing, and once completed, the suspect will be charged to court.
