Former information minister is dead
Chief Alex Akinyele, former Information Minister, died after a short illness.
He was aged 81,
Constantine Akinyele one of his brothers in a statement confirmed his death on Thursday night.
A source close the deceased said that he was in London for a while before he died
Akinyele was the founder of the Nigerian Customs Service, an accomplished public relations expert.
Akinyele was appointed information minister by the former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, later becoming chairman of the National Sports Commission and chairman of the National Reconciliation Commission.
