Police officers wielding axes have liberated a woman who was shackled to the floor of a residence in Kentucky, resembling the captivity of a dog.

A woman who had been confined to a Kentucky residence, much like a dog, with chains securing her to the floor, was ultimately rescued by the police after enduring two days of captivity. A chilling video captures the moment when law enforcement came to her aid.

On August 16, concerned neighbors reported hearing the anguished cries of the victim, prompting Louisville Metro police officers to take immediate action. They had to enter the Kentucky property through a second-floor window to reach the captive woman.

Inside, they discovered a hatchet, which they used to break the chain that had kept her tethered to the floor. Once freed, they escorted her to safety, where emergency services provided care.

Two days after the rescue, Moises May, aged 36 and the father of the victim's child, was apprehended. He faced charges of kidnapping, intimidating a participant in the legal process, wanton endangerment, assault, terroristic threatening, and harassment. The police department in Louisville Metro attempted to gain entry to the property by forcefully breaking down doors and windows, but the home had been entirely barricaded.

Remarkably, the unidentified woman managed to escape the second-floor room where she had been confined by breaking through a window. A neighbor, upon seeing her plight, immediately offered assistance, exclaiming, "I've got a ladder." Video footage shows an officer ascending the ladder, traversing broken glass, and entering the squalid bedroom where the woman was held. He then removed the chain from around her neck and attempted to console her.

According to the police, the woman had been secured with a chain around her neck, which was locked with a MasterLock and bolted to the floor. She tearfully apologized to the police officer and revealed that the man who had imprisoned her had the key on his keychain.

Firefighters used bolt cutters to remove the locked chain from her neck, and despite being in a state of shock, the woman continued to tremble and cry. She was subsequently assisted outside and received medical attention from emergency services.
