A Final Year student at ESUT discovered deceased in her residence, while a male companion is reportedly struggling for survival.
Mbah Ezinne, a final-year student at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), was discovered deceased in her room. The lifeless body of the Department of Anatomy student was found within her apartment on July 31, 2023, when she did not appear at her church service. Her brother, Mbah Samson, shared a Facebook post on Monday, August 14, 2023, authored by Akalu Moon. The post implicated a woman named Anita Josephine Ogona for damaging the late Ezinne's reputation online and suggested that Ezinne was the victim of foul play.
The late Ezinne had participated in a praise night with friends on Friday, July 28, 2023, as part of the Youth Day celebrations scheduled for Sunday, July 30. After the service began in the church on Sunday, attempts to contact Ezinne were unsuccessful, as her phone indicated that it was not reachable.
Concerned for her well-being, her brother Stephen and friends visited her Enugu residence on Monday morning, July 31. They observed Ezinne and a male coursemate lying on the floor through her window. Neighbors advised Stephen to involve the police before taking further action. Law enforcement was called, and both victims were taken to the hospital.
At the hospital, Ezinne was pronounced dead, while her male friend, whose identity remains unknown, was resuscitated. The male friend is currently in critical condition at the hospital. Family and friends hope that his recovery will shed light on the events of that unfortunate weekend.
