Mercy disclosed how she discovered, while still dating, that her then-boyfriend Emenike married ex-Beauty Queen, Ihuoma. She found out that he was getting married through Social Media. When she made attempt to call him, she realised he had blocked her everywhere on social media.

Mercy said the ex- Nigeria star player loved her, but she thought he married Ihuoma  because she was a star while she was a nobody then and that it could be what made him leave her for someone renowned, saying that the occurrence helped her realize that she must also become a celebrity, and that she must pop up on his timeline whenever he operates his phone.

She said she couldn't help herself to become a celebrity at that moment, but she gradually discovered her way into the House of the Big Brother, which has certainly brought her down the road of achieving her aim of becoming a celebrity.
