It has been said that the child suffers a rare birth defect called gastroschisis which occurs early during pregnancy when the muscles that form the abdominal wall of the baby do not form properly. The baby's intestines are outside the baby's body, coming out through a hole next to the navel. Small or large and sometimes other organs, such as the stomach and liver, can also be found outside the baby's body.
