Fatoyinbo snubs a PFN panel investigating the alleged rape of Busola Dakolo
The founder of the Commonwealth Council of Zion (COZA),
Father Biodun Fatoyinbo, has shunned a panel formed by the Pentecostal
Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) to investigate allegations of rape against him by
Busola, the singer's wife, Timi Dakolo.
The PFN National Publicity Secretary, Bishop Emma Isong,
told reporters on Thursday that Fatoyinbo failed to honor the invitation of a
five-member investigation panel.
However, Isong said that Busola and Timi appeared in front
of the panel.
A PFN spokesman said the investigation was inconclusive,
expressing PFN's disappointment at Fatoyinbo's refusal to appear before the
panel even after he reached out to the agency for intervention.
Isong said: "Unfortunately, several attempts to meet
Pastor Biodun from the COZA church, who was an important party on this issue,
failed despite efforts from the fact-finding committee to get his attention or
appearance.
"PFN, however, appreciates the respect given by Mrs.
Dakolo in her personal appearance, together with her husband, to state the side
of the story.
"Because of this, PFN, unfortunately, wants to announce
its inability to conclude this. We can make further statements later. But of
course, for now, Nigerians and well-intentioned people are our witnesses that
we have fulfilled the scriptural, public and moral expectations as a reasonable
and legal organization.
Busola accused in June that Father Fatoyinbo raped him as a
teenager in Ilorin, Kwara State.
