Port Harcourt Electricity Company Records 27.6bn Naira Loss

Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company loses 27.6 billion Naira annually to payment inefficiency, advocates for energy efficiency, an official of the company has said. The company says it loses over 27 billion Naira due to payment inefficiency.
The distribution company that serves four states in the south-south, including Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa States, has floated an online payment system in a bid to increase efficiency.
This was made known at an Energy Efficiency Forum in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Energy Company, Jay Maccosky, emphasised the need for energy users to adopt ways of conserving energy by using suitable appliances.
He said the issue of estimated bills could be resolved through their energy calculator.
