World Day Against Child Labour
June 12th, is International Labour Organization’s (ILO) "World Day Against Child Labour." This day focuses attention on the global extent of child labour, and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it.
It brings together governments, employers and workers organizations, civil society, as well as millions of people from around the world to highlight the plight of child labourers and what can be done to help them.
According to the UNICEF Fact sheet on Child Labour in Nigeria, a staggering 15 million children under the age of 14 are working across Nigeria.
Do you exploit Nigerian children? For example, do you have a child that is under 14 years old, that really ought to be in school, dropping off YOUR child in school, working all day, picking up your child from school and taking care of your child whilst you are at work?
Let us all do our bit to give our children the opportunity to be grow in grace and to be educated. They are our only hope. They are our future.
