Olubadan of Ibadan dies at 101 after a brief illness

The Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1, has died. The respected Yoruba monarch died yesterday evening after a brief illness. He is said to have suddenly lost consciousness. He was 101 years old.
Oba Odulana ascended the throne in 2007 as the 39th Olubadan of Ibadan land. He was the 17th Olubadan since the title was elevated from Baale Ibadan to the Olubadan in 1930.
