NUJ RAISES ALARM OVER SLASH IN 2015 BUDGETARY ALLOCATION TO FED. MIN. OF EDU.
The
Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has raised alarm over what they describe as
the huge slash in the 2015 budgetary allocation to the Federal Ministry of
Education.
The
National President Comrade Michael Alogba made the disclosure while
addressing the representatives of all the states branches of the NUT present at
the National Solemn Assembly which held in Abuja today.
Comrade Alogba
said the reduction in the budget allocation of the Ministry will make it
more difficult to pay workers their salaries. While noting that only prayers
can free the country from the challenges it is currently facing, he urged all
the leaders from the various states to ensure they equally organise state
prayers.
Prayers
were offered at the event for the safe return of the 219 abducted Chibok girls
and also for the successful conduct of the February general
elections.
