Ifeanyi Chiejine died yesterday
She has been named as one of the most successful
international women in Nigeria, forward Ifeanyi Chiejine, who died at the age
of 36 after a long illness.
Chiejine, who played for Nigeria in the 2000 and 2008
Olympics won four African Women's Cup titles.
She was the youngest player at the 1999 Fifa Women's World Cup in the United States and went to play at the 2003 and 2007 tournaments.
"We are sad to announce the sudden demise of our former Super Falcons player. Rest in peace, Ifeanyichukwu Stephanie Chiejine," the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) wrote on social media.
