Gunmen attack deputy governor’s convoy,Four Dead
Gunmen killed three policemen and a civilian in an attack on Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe's convoy.
The deputy governor's convoy was attacked on Tuesday while they were heading to Abuja for the minister's inauguration ceremony scheduled for Wednesday.
The attack took place near the Gako hill in the Eggon Nasarawa Regional Government Area at around 6 pm
Nasarawa police spokesman Usman Samaila confirmed the incident to the Nigeria News Agency (NAN).
Mr. Samaila did not give details about the incident. He, however, said the police commissioner, Bola Longe, had led a team of officers to the scene to assess the situation.
"When I talk to you now, the Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner of Operations and other high-ranking officers from the command have gone to the scene," Samaila said.
The body has been stored at Dalhatu Araf Lafia Specialist Hospital.
The deputy governor, who was not injured but unable to talk to reporters about the incident.
