Atiku’s son-in-law and lawyer arraigned over money laundering by EFCC
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned
Abdullahi Babalele, who is the son-in-law to be of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for
allegedly laundering $140,000 in the 2019 general elections.
They Also arraigned Uyiekpen Osagie-Giwa, Atiku’s lawyer separately
for allegedly laundering $2m, during the
elections.=
Both Babalele and Osagie-Giwa were arraigned before Justice
Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The judge adjourned till Thursday for their bail
applications. Justice Oweibo also ordered that the defendants be remanded in
EFCC custody.
