Shi'ite protesters clash Again with Nigeria military, police in Abuja

Nigerian troops and police clashed again on Tuesday with Shi’ite Muslim following an attempt to stage another protest barely 24 hours after the bloody clash that claimed the lives of over 10 persons in Abuja, Including a journalist.

The air was thick with teargas as soldiers and police officers made arrests.  and gunshot could be heard at the Banex area in Wuse 2 Abuja. All shops and other business complexes within the area have been locked up by their owners for fear of being hit by stray bullet. The Shi’ite group marched in protest against the continued detention of its leader, despite a court ruling that he be released.
