Former Deputy Governor of Ogun State,
Alhaji Abdul Rafiu Ogunleye has passed away at 79. The Governor of
the state, Dapo Abiodun who broke the news of the death of Ogunleye
on Monday, described it as great sorrow
Ogunleye, who died early Monday, was once deputy governor
all through the administration of Olusegun Osoba.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed sorrow over
the demise.
The governor, in a declaration via his chief press
secretary, Kunle Somorin, described Ogunleye as an astute administrator and a
politician per excellent, who contributed immensely to the socio-economic and
the political development of Ogun State.
Abiodun attributed the improvement currently being enjoyed
by the people to the efforts of people like Ogunleye, who worked tirelessly to
make sure that the state attains its modern-day status.
He stated he had hoped that the former deputy governor would
stay longer so that his administration “would continue to faucet from his
a wealth of journey for the benefit of the people of the State”.
The governor urged the family to take solace in the reality
