Ex Manchester United Star Patrice Evra retires from football
Former Manchester United star Patrice Evra has
announced his retirement from football, aged 38. The left-back – whose
glittering career also included spells at Juventus, Marseille and West Ham –
has decided to hang up his boots and focus on becoming a coach.

He will be fondly remembered at Old Trafford, where he won
15 trophies and made 379 appearances for the club.
“My playing career is officially over,” he told Gazzetta
Dello Sport. “I started training for the UEFA B Coaching License in 2013, now I
want to finish it and then go on to get the UEFA A license.
In a year and a half, if everything goes well, I’ll be ready
to lead a team. Sir Alex Ferguson had predicted at the time that two of
his players would become coaches of a high level: Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra.”
The former France international was never far from
controversy during his playing Evra’s final club proved to be West Ham, who
released him last year after just five appearances.
The 38-year-old has since emerged as quite the character on social media, regularly
posting wacky clips and forever shouting his catchphrase, ‘I love this game!’
