President Buhari Orders Sale of Two Presidential Aircraft

 

The Nigeria president has approved the sale of two of the 10 aircraft in Nigeria's presidential fleet to cut down on the annual maintenace cost which, as of 2014, was N1.52 billion, plus an additional N1b for aviation fuel.

The aircraft are a Falcon 7X executive jet and a Hawker 4000. The Falcon 7X which was purchased in 2011, has a 16 passenger capacity, while the Hawker 4000, which was purchased in 2012, has room for nine passengers.
