Mary J. Blige files for divorce from husband Kendu Isaacs

Mary J. Blige flies for divorce from her marriage of 12years with her husband Kendu Isaacs’ and is citing irreconcilable differences.

After news broke earlier yesterday fans expressed shock over the sudden news.The Queen of Hip Hop Soul has responded to the news by issuing the following statement through her rep:

“Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don't work how we hoped they would... but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything. Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”

According to TMZ reports, Blige have asked a judge to block Isaacs from obtaining or requesting spousal support after the divorce.

Blige and Isaacs were married on December 7, 2003 in a private ceremony and have no children together.
