37-year-old man arrested for having anal sex with mentally-challenged girl

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old man, Adesola Moses, for allegedly raping a 19-year-old mentally-challenged girl.

According to reports, the suspect took advantage of the victim’s mental health and had anal sex with her.

Moses, who resides at Osenatuilo Street, Alagbado by AIT Road, reportedly raped the victim in her mother’s shop.

A family member disclosed to Vanguard that the victim’s mother, Muiynant Mustapha, left her daughter in her shop to attend a party, when the suspect sneaked into the shop, asked the girl to remove her clothes and then raped her.

“While the act was ongoing, a 10-year-old girl, Tunrayo, daughter of the landlord, who usually plays with the victim, saw them and ran out to alert people. By the time people got to the shop, the suspect had escaped,” the family member disclosed.

“In a bid to identify the suspect, the elders in the community gathered 12 young men in the area and Tunrayo was able to identify the suspect, who had changed his clothes to avoid recognition.”

The case was initially reported at Alagbado Division; however, it is currently being investigated at State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, in Panti area of the state.
