Child sex attacker Stuart Hall freed from prison after serving half his sentence

DISGRACED Stuart
Hall walked free from prison today after serving half his sentence for a string
of sickening sex attacks on young girls.
The 85-year-old
paedophile was jailed for a total of five years for abusing more than a dozen girls
aged as young as nine.
The ex-Radio 5
Live football commentator was convicted in June 2013 of indecently assaulting 13
girls and his 15-month sentence was doubled to 30-months by the Court of Appeal.
Hall, of
Wilmslow, Cheshire, was then given another 30 months in May last year after
separately admitting indecently assaulting a 13 year-old schoolgirl.
During his first trial
at Preston Crown court the former It’s A Knockout Presenter was described as an
“opportunistic predator”.
The
broadcaster had hoped to jet off for a new life in Spain after leaving Wymott
Prison near Preston today, but his hopes have been dashed after he was barred
from going abroad for two and a half years as part of his probation. Instead, as a registered sex offender, the former BBC football reporter will have to remain in Britain to regularly report to police and probation officers.
His wife of 57 years has already quit their sprawling £1.2million Spanish villa-style mansion in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and cut the sale price to £995,000.
Hazel has been battling to offload the couple's property for over two years since the broadcaster went to jail in 2013 - but has so far had no takers.
In 2013 her paedophile husband admitted abusing 13 girls, five of them - all under 14 years-old - actually within the confines of the four-bed mansion in Wilmslow, Cheshire,
It is understood he and wife Hazel were hoping for a quick sale so they could retire to either Puerto Banus or Marbella and blend in with the thousands of British ex-pats there.
A neighbour said: "It's no great secret hazel has struggled to sell that property.
"In her husband's heyday the house was worth a fortune but it's hardly surprising they have been unable to get rid of it bearing in mind what he had been up to.
"It's a huge shame because it is a magnificent property in an excellent location. It's a real bargain for anyone who wants a millionaire's property on the cheap."
In the 1980s Hall molested a nine-year-old girl by putting his hand up her clothing.
He also kissed a 13-year-old girl on the lips after he said to her: “People need to show thanks in other ways.”
On another occasion in the 1970s he fondled the breast of a girl aged 16 or 17.
Hall has been a familiar face and voice in British broadcasting for half a century and was awarded an OBE in the 2012 New Year Honours.
His eccentric and erudite football match summaries made him a cult figure on BBC Radio 5 Live.
He also wrote a weekly sport column for the Radio Times magazine up until his arrest.
Hall - who has since been stripped of his OBE - signed over the house to his wife before being jailed for 30 months in 2013.
Four of those 13 girls were fondled at his home while supposedly invited back for elocution lessons - while a fifth was abused after being invited to use his swimming pool.
In May 2014 he was sentenced to another 30 months for sexually abusing a young girl 36 years ago.
Another neighbour added: "Hazel has stood by Stuart and fully expects them to remain a couple when he comes out.
"She has virtually moved out now. She spends lots of time with friends and family and is also concentrating her search for a new home in Spain. Hazel still sees Spain as the perfect escape."
The neighbour added: "They both love Marbella and Puerto Banus. Hazel just wants them to see out their remaining years peacefully, away from the spotlight.
"Whether she goes before Stuart can join her is up in the air at the moment."
Hall - described in court as an "opportunist predator" - has been kept busy writing a second autobiography while in Wymott Prison.
It is thought Hall is being sued by at least 20 women who are claiming compensation for the vile crimes they endured.
In its promotional blurb for the property, estate agents Gascoigne Halman said: "Enjoying stunning views across beautiful landscaped gardens, this spacious detached house constructed with influences of a Spanish villa occupies a favourable position."
