Gavin Rossdale 'was cheating on Gwen Stefani with family nanny'
Gwen Stefani recently revealed her split from husband of 13 years Gavin Rossdale was completely 'unexpected'.
And it has now been alleged that Gavin was cheating on the No Doubt singer for three years with their family nanny Mindy Mann, who was charged with looking after their three sons Kingston, nine, Zuma, seven, and Apollo, 20 months.
The new issue of Us Weekly claims the Bush rocker initially denied having an affair with the child minder after another one of their nannies supposedly discovered messages and nude photos on the family's iPad and informed Gwen.
MailOnline has contacted both Gwen and Gavin's spokespeople for comment.
Gavin, 50, is said to have initially brushed the messages off as 'flirtation', before allegedly confessing to adultery months later, the magazine reports.
It 'completely devastated her,' a source told Us. 'She was mortified, livid, and embarrassed.'
The supposed liaison is alleged to have lasted for more than three years, including the period when Gwen was pregnant with their youngest child Apollo.
Denial: Gavin, pictured here with Mindy and son's KIngston and Zuma in 2010, is said to have initially brushed off Gwen's accusation, saying it was a 'flirtation', but he then confessed
A source added: 'This was done right under Gwen’s nose.'
According to the publication, the singer confronted her husband about his affair on February 9 this year.
When he confessed, she knew their marriage was over.
The magazine details that Mindy sent gavin several nude photos of herself, and the texts also included arrangements for her and Gavin to meet up and have sex.
For Gwen, it was apparently not just the affair that broke her, but also the fact her husband had been doing it with a woman she knew and trusted, who looked after their children.
Mindy was fired as soon as the singer had confronted her husband.
Gwen first employed the nanny back in 2008 - she started working with the family as a fill in and then became permanent.
The blonde haired Australian seemed delighted to be in the couple's household - according to a family source, she 'began to post pictures on social media dressed in a similar way to Gwen.'
To close for comfort? Gavin and Mindy are pictured here on a hike together in 2012 - when Gwen saw the pictures she was unhappy
In 2012, pictures emerged of Mindy and Gavin on a hike together - he was seen touching her backside as they walked.
Gwen was understandably upset by the images - a source told the magazine her suspicions were aroused.
Meanwhile insiders in Gavin's circle explained away the seemingly intimate gesture by telling the press the girl in the photos was the rocker's sister - Soraya.
However it was Mindy - and she and Gavin were already allegedly in the throes of an affair.
Explanation: According to the magazine, Gavin's circle tried to suggest to the press at the time the photos were of him and his sister - by this point he was allegedly in the throes of an affair with Mindy
Friends and those close to Gwen tried to be discreet - but it was apparently obvious that Mindy and the Bush frontman were more than just employer and employee.
Gwen, who has a strong Catholic faith, was determined to keep her marriage together for the sake of her children, and also because she did not believe in divorce.
It wasn't until the blonde singer discovered the text messages and photos, that she had proof she couldn't ignore.
When Gavin is said to have initially denied having an affair with Mindy, it was a second nanny confirming the pair's relationship which made the singer decided enough was enough.
She filed for divorce on August 3.
The claims come just after Gwen, whose divorce was finalised in October, sat down with KIIS FM's Jojo Wright on Monday and talked about her 'unexpected' split with ex-husband Gavin.
In real life: Her relationship with her ex-husband, Gavin (pictured in September 2014), is believed to have been the inspiration for her song, Used to Love You
The 'unexpected' ending to her marriage played out in her songwriting.
'I had been writing because my life blew up,' she said. 'Everybody knows that my life blew up last February. I'd just been dealing with that. Unexpected. I was going along thinking that was going to be the rest of my life and it's not. I don't know what happened,' she confessed.
Her relationship with her ex-husband is believed to have been the inspiration for her song, Used to Love You, as it opens with these lyrics: 'Yeah, boy. Never thought this would happen. I let it sink in. You're gone. I don't know, know what I'm feeling. I must be dreaming. You're gone.'
Hers and his: Gwen (pictured in December of last year) allegedly opted not to give spousal support to her ex, as she is worth an estimated 80 million, while he is estimated at 35 million
When she was at a low, that's when the words flowed freely.
'There was one night, the epicenter of the whole thing - that's the most I can say about that - and the next day I wrote the chorus to Used to Love You. But I didn't know it was Used to Love You. I just had written all this stuff and it had happened to be in there buried in a bunch of lyrics that I had written.'
In August, the parents to Kingston, aged nine, Zuma, aged seven, and Apollo, aged one, both filed for divorce,TMZ reported. It was finalized in October of this year. Gwen allegedly opted not to give spousal support to her now ex-husband, as she is worth an estimated 80 million, while he is estimated at 35 million.
