Mathew Knowles claims BET Network ripped off his idea for a reality show and gave it to Kelly Rowland

  • BET Networks announced that Kelly Rowland will hold auditions for her new talent competition reality show set for next year and Mathew Knowles, 63, feels this idea was taken from his concept. He produced the reality series Breaking From Above in 2011, but it flopped.
  • See below how  The Daily Mail reported it...

  • He once considered her to be his own daughter, but now Beyoncé's estranged father - Mathew Knowles - is on warpath against Destiny's Child original member Kelly Rowland. The former music industry power-player was served a harsh blow when BET Networks announced that Kelly will hold auditions for her new talent competition reality show – seeking singers and dancers to form a new group a la the best-selling super-group that made Kelly, Beyoncé and Michelle Williams international icons.

  • 'Mathew Knowles hit the roof when he heard about the concept for the show, which he thinks is a direct rip-off of an unsuccessful attempt at a similar concept he tried to craft after his superstar daughter gave him the pink slip in 2011,' a source told Daily Mail Online exclusively.

  • 'In the past, there was talk that a lot of the deals and opportunities that Mathew received for Kelly and Michelle were offered up to Beyoncé first and sometimes even Solange Knowles and Kelly and Michelle would lose out.

  • 'Now that Kelly is looking out for herself, she could care less what Mathew thinks about her hosting this show,' said the source.
  • Chasing Destiny' is set to air on BET in 2016
