Jim Carrey reportedly flying to Ireland to attend his ex-girlfriend's funeral this weekend

According to Skynews, Jim Carrey is reported to be planning to fly to Ireland to attend his ex-girlfriend's funeral this weekend.

Make-up artist Cathriona White was found dead in Sherman Oaks, California, on 28 September and investigators are treating it as suicide.

Carrey described her death as like being "hit with a lightning bolt". 

The couple dated for a while in 2012 and were pictured hand-in-hand in New York earlier this year.

Some news outlets have reported that the Hollywood actor has helped the 30-year-old's family organise the ceremony.

Ms White, from the village of Cappawhite in Co Tipperary, moved to LA in 2009 and took roles as an extra on a television show before working behind the scenes.

Her funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cappawhite, followed by a burial next to her father Pat in the village cemetery.

A death notice said she was sadly missed by her sisters and brothers Lisa, James, Larina, Sarah and Tadhg, her stepmother Brid, mother Brigid, grandmother Lily, grandfather James and extended family members and a wide circle of friends.

The message was posted online by White's Funeral Home, the local undertakers run by members of Ms White's family.

They asked for flowers only at the service and donations, if desired, to The Simon Community and the Circle of Friends Tipperary.
