Man United legend Cristiano Ronaldo's new deal hints at next move after Real Madrid
CRISTIANO RONALDO has splashed out £11.8m on a loft apartment in New York.
The Real Madrid icon has completed a deal for the 2,509 square foot loft in the famous 58-story Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in the Big Apple, according to the New York Post.
Ronaldo has been linked with a move to MLS in the future, with Los Angeles typically touted as his most likely destination.
However, the purchase of the property has raised hopes at both New York Red Bulls and New York City FC that they could lure the Portuguese forward.
The apartment itself was previously owned by Alessandro Proto, an Italian real-estate mogul who is a business partner of world famous real-estate developer Donald Trump, who developed the tower that bears his name.
Manchester United have long been expected to make a move to bring their former number seven back to Old Trafford but there appears to have been no progress made with less than two weeks of the transfer window left.
The Portugal captain still has three years left on his Real Madrid contract, and will be 33 when it expires.
