Deadly Typhoon Soudelor batters Taiwan

BBCpowerful Typhoon Soudelor has swept across Taiwan with strong winds and heavy rain, leaving at least four people dead and four missing.

The storm weakened over the island but remains powerful as it heads for China, prompting the evacuation of more than 150,000 people on the mainland's coast.
Rail services and flights have been cancelled in the path of the storm, and schools and offices closed.
Millions of homes have been left without electricity.

Soudelor - with winds of more than 230km/h (142mph) - made landfall on the eastern coast of Taiwan early on Saturday
It ripped up trees and tore down billboards, and triggered a landslide in at least one village.
