UN Appoints New UNICEF Deputy Chief
The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, has appointed a Senegalese national, Ms Fatoumata Ndiaye, as the Deputy Executive Director of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), according to a UN statement on Tuesday.
Ndiaye, who is currently serving as UNICEF’s Director of the Office of Internal Audit and Investigations (OIAI), previously served as Director, Internal Audit Division, Office of Internal Oversight Services at the UN Secretariat in New York.
Prior to her work at the United Nations, Ndiaye worked in the private sector, providing audit and management advisory services, including as Manager, Chief Management Advisory Services at Coopers and Lybrand (now PWC) in Senegal.
“ Ndiaye will bring strong management experience and leadership skills that will support management initiatives that are underway, to deliver results for children,’’ the statement said. (PANA/NAN)
